The Nyota Uhura depicter would love to reprise her role in the sci-fi franchise as a new movie is rumored to be in the works, more than seven years since the last one came out.

AceShowbiz - Zoe Saldana would be thrilled to make a fourth "Star Trek" film. The 45-year-old actress portrayed Lieutenant Nyota Uhura in the rebooted trilogy and is open to reprising the role amid speculation that a new movie in is the works.

"I mean, I heard what you heard in the trades. I just heard they're gearing up to do a new one with a younger, sort of, take on it... I don't know if it's from the before or the after, but that they really still hope to grab all of us veterans and bring us back for one last round," Zoe said to ComicBook.com.

"Listen, I know it's a lot to wrangle a whole bunch of people with busy schedules. But working with J.J. Abrams, and for J.J. Abrams at Bad Robot, was always just a wonderful and beautiful experience for me. So, if I get to do that one last time, I would be so grateful."

Chris Pine is set to return as James T. Kirk in the potential movie but expressed annoyance last year at the lack of progress being made in development following the departure of director Matt Shakman.

He told Esquire magazine, "I don't know anything. In 'Star Trek' land, the actors are usually the last people to find out anything. I know costume designers that have read scripts before the actors."

The "Wonder Woman" actor admits that he and his co-stars were taken by surprise when producer J.J. Abrams announced that "Star Trek 4" was in the works and has become used to a lack of clarity from film bosses.

Chris said, "I would say it's frustrating. It doesn't really foster the greatest sense of partnership, but it's how it's always been. I love the character. I love the people. I love the franchise. But to try to change the system in which things are created - I just can't do it. I don't have the energy."
