AceShowbiz - Julia Fox's latest unique fashion earns her a comparison to a character from "Despicable Me". After rocking a black outfit featuring a high collar, fans started to liken her to Gru, though she didn't seem to be insulted by the comparison.
The "Uncut Gems" actress took to her Instagram account to reshare a fan's post. Alongside a side-by-side picture of her look at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and the cartoon character, the fan wrote, "I love you @juliafox but it's giving Gru."
Instead of being mad, Julia actually had a cool response to it. "Honestly slay," the mom of one wrote over the picture.
Fans loved how Julia dealt with the joke. "At least she can take a joke in stride," one person praised the model. One other shared, "I wouldn't even feel offended I love Gru and the actor that plays him," while someone else said, "I love her."
Julia attended the film festival on Friday, January 19 to promote her new movie "Presence", which stars Lucy Liu among others. During a post-premiere Q&A session, director Steven Soderbergh asked the cast about their feelings after watching the thriller for the first time.
"Traumatized," Julia, who turned heads in a black sequined dress, leather gloves as well as a black hoodie with the word "Mom" on the chest, shared. "I hadn't even read the script, to be honest. But when Steven calls, I trust him blindly. So, here we are, and I'm just going to need a moment to decompress."
As for Lucy, she admitted that she "didn't have words." She added, "I'm such a huge admirer, and I respect both of these artists [Steven and screenwriter David Koepp] so much and to be a part of this incredible movie, I'm devastated, and my body is having reactions that as if I wasn't in the movie."
"Presence" follows a family who moves into a new home only to recognize an unsettling presence in the house. In the movie, Julia appears briefly at the start of the film as she plays the realtor who sells the family their home.
