Jamie, meanwhile, made his first public appearance when accepting the Vanguard Award at the Critics Choice Association Celebration of Cinema and Television: Honoring Black, Latino and AAPI Achievements event in Los Angeles.

AceShowbiz - Jamie Foxx is back to work. Nearly one year after he was struck down by a mystery illness, the actor was spotted on the set of his new film, "Back in Action", alongside Cameron Diaz.

On Saturday, January 20, the 56-year-old was photographed walking next to his co-star on the Atlanta set of their upcoming Netflix movie. In a picture surfacing online, he could be seen putting his hands in his pocket.

Of the outing, a source close to the film's set told PEOPLE that Jamie was "very quiet" while filming. The "Django Unchained" star reportedly was "just focused on working."

Jamie suffered from a medical complication in April 2023. Later in July, he addressed his hospitalization, saying that he "went through something that I never thought I would go through."

"I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear updates but to be honest with you, I just didn't want you to see me like that, man," he explained. "I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, television show. I didn't want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was gonna make it through."

Jamie also shut down rumors regarding his medical condition. He elaborated, "By being quiet, sometimes things get out of hand. Some people said I was blind but as you can see my eyes are working just fine. Some said I was paralyzed, I am not but I did go to hell and back. My road to recovery had some potholes as well. But I am coming back, I am able to work, so I want to thank the people who let me work."

In December 2023, Jamie made his first public appearance when accepting the Vanguard Award at the Critics Choice Association Celebration of Cinema & Television: Honoring Black, Latino and AAPI Achievements event in Los Angeles. "You know, it's crazy, I couldn't do that six months ago - I couldn't actually walk. I cherish every single minute now - it's different," he said at the time.
