The 'Pretty Woman' actress admits she has turned down 'most' offers to feature in top-brand fashion ads because she prefers to work with family-run companies.

AceShowbiz - Julia Roberts has rejected "most" offers to front fashion campaigns. The 56-year-old "Pretty Woman" actress said she instead tries to spend her time away from acting working with companies that are family-run and finds brand work part of "big" decisions.

"Those I find to be very big, thoughtful decisions. I don't accept most or many. I find myself gravitating towards enterprises that are run by families a lot - that's something that always kind of gets my extra attention," she told British Vogue when asked how she decides what to endorse.

Julia made the remarks in a cover chat for the magazine with her "Notting Hill" director Richard Curtis, 67, who also asked if she preferred working with family businesses as she found them less "corporate."

She added, "I just feel I understand what a family enterprise is more than a kind of stable of people that work together. Chopard is a family, and that means something to me. Being at LancĂ´me, it's not a family, but at this point I've been there for so long, and we all know each other in such an intrinsic way, that it has become very familial to me in that regard."

Julia also joked in her chat with Richard the secret to her youthful looks was "pickling" her head for 18 hours every fortnight. The mum-of-three also admitted she thinks she looked far younger at the peak of her movie career, saying, "Not to say I'm unchanged, because I did see a picture earlier of Tom Hanks and me from a movie, and we looked like we had been ironed."

When Richard told her Vogue readers "will want to know whether or not you use any artificial methods to preserve your lustrous youth", Julia joked, "Pickling. I put my head in the jar every other Saturday for 18 hours. It does wonders. The smell is awful."

She then added, "No - serious answer. Good genes, leading a life that is fulfilling, and I have said this - and I say it usually as kind of a joke - but I do believe in the love of a good man."
