The 'Old Town Road' hitmaker, who was accused of making a 'mockery of Jesus,' is deemed a 'genius' after posting the fake acceptance letter for a Biblical Studies program.

AceShowbiz - Lil Nas X appeared to have trolled social media users with a hoax. The "Old Town Road" hitmaker's acceptance letter for a Biblical Studies program has been confirmed to be fake by Liberty University shortly after he posted it via social media.

Speaking to TMZ on Wednesday, January 10, a spokesperson for Liberty University stated, "We can confirm that Liberty University did not issue the Montero Hill 'acceptance letter' posted yesterday to social media, and we have no record of Montero Hill applying to the University." It was making a reference to the 24-year-old Grammy winner's real name.

"Liberty University exists to glorify God by equipping men and women in higher education in fidelity to the Christian faith expressed through the Holy Scriptures," it went on to say. "We continue to pray for America and for the Gospel of Jesus Christ to be proclaimed across this land. We welcome all to apply and join us at Liberty University."

The statement was later shared via Instagram by the media outlet. The new post was quickly flooded with mixed online responses from Instagram users. In the comments section, one in particular gushed over Lil Nas X, "You are his free marketing. Lol he's a genius and you're his marketing team," adding a laughing emoji. In contrast, another noted, "Bro already has a ticket to hell."

A third accused the "Montero (Call Me by Your Name)" hitmaker of seeking "attention" by writing, "He's so desperate for attention damn." Similarly, a fourth blasted the artist, "This attention seeking loser needs a new gimmick. Nobody's outraged anymore, we're just laughing at his lack of originality."

One day prior, Lil Nas X went public with his claim suggesting that he has been accepted to Liberty University, a Christian university in Virginia, with a Dual Concentration in Christian Leadership and Biblical Studies. On Tuesday, January 9, he made use of his Instagram page to share the fake acceptance letter mentioning that the emcee was set to start his study in the Fall 2024 semester.

Along with the letter, Lil Nas X, who was recently accused of making a "mockery of Jesus" in the cover of his new single titled "J CHRIST", wrote, "I know some of yall hate me right now but i want yall to know im literally about to go to college for biblical studies in the fall. Not everything is a troll! Anyways IM A STUDENT AGAIN! LETS GOOO."
