AceShowbiz - Carmen Electra has taken a legal step to change her name. The former "Baywatch" star, born Tara Leigh Patrick, reportedly has filed a petition to make her stage name that she's been using for over 30 years official.

According to TMZ, the 51-year-old filed the paperwork on December 29, 2023, ahead of the New Year. The reason behind the name change remains unclear and it's not clear if her request has been granted yet.

The model/actress became known as Carmen Electra during her years at Prince's Paisley Park Records in the early 90s. Back in 2014, she divulged that Prince was the one who coined her famous moniker after they met in 1991.

"I auditioned for an all girl group that he was putting together and he ended up signing me to his label Paisley Park,' she told The Yo Show, according to Yahoo Entertainment. "After I danced for him he said, 'You look like Electra. That should be your name.' "

However, Carmen, who was previously married to NBA star Dennis Rodman and musician Dava Navarro, admitted that the nickname didn't stick at first. "I thought it sounded kinda like a super hero type of name which actually it is. So I was hesitant but it just sorta grew on me and that's it. I'm Electra now," she explained.

That aside, Carmen recently got candid about the weirdest OnlyFans request. "I get lots of requests for my feet, it cracks me up," the former Playboy cover star, who charges $25 for special requests, said as quoted by The Sun.

Carmen told PEOPLE, "I just felt like, 'Yeah, I need to do this.' I, for once, have this opportunity to be my own boss and have my own creative vision to share with my fans without someone standing over me, telling me, 'Don't do this, don't do that. Cover up this.' " She went on to share, "People are going to do what they want to do anyway with your photos, you might as well be in control of them and follow what you feel like doing inside."
