AceShowbiz - Steve Burton is saying goodbye to "Days of Our Lives". When confirming his exit after filming his "final scenes," the actor thanked the show's cast and crew through a video.
In the clip, which was uploaded to the Daily Drama's YouTube page on Wednesday, January 3, the 53-year-old declared, "Wow! Well, I just shot my final scenes here at Days of Our Lives." He added, "I just want to say thank you so much to the cast [and] to the crew. Everybody. It's been amazing."
"I can't believe it's been a year already! So, thank you so much to the fans... It's just, I'm always so full of gratitude. So thank you!" Steve added. He then advised fans to "stay tuned" for what's to come.
Steve made his debut on "Days of Our Lives" in 1988 as Harris Micheals and quit the soap opera later that year. Following his time on the show, he went on to star on other shows like "The Young and the Restless" and "General Hospital", where he earned several Daytime Emmy awards.
Steve announced his departure days after he finalized his divorce from Sheere Burton. The former couple settled their divorce in December, according to Us Weekly. Per previous documents filed, the exes noted that the divorce is uncontested, with Sheree asking the court to terminate forever spousal support to both parties.
Steve and Sheere share three kids together, Makena, Jack and Brooklyn. According to the publication, custody and visitation arrangements of the children have not changed.
Steve confirmed his split from Sheere via Instagram Story in May 2022. "I wanted to clear something up, Sheree and I are separated," he declared. "She recently announced that she's expecting her 4th child. The child is not mine. We are still co-parenting our three beautiful kids. We would appreciate privacy at this time. Much luv, Steve."
