In a new interview for a magazine's cover story, the 'Kelly Clarkson Show' host discusses what she has been doing to lose her weight, including a healthy mix diet and workout.

AceShowbiz - Kelly Clarkson has opened up about how she lost pounds of body weight. The host of "The Kelly Clarkson Show" spilled her secret to her dramatic weight loss as she revealed that she has been doing it wrong for "a couple years."

In a new interview published on Wednesday, January 3, the 41-year-old host/singer unveiled what she did to get in shape after she was speculated to have consumed Ozempic. Speaking to PEOPLE magazine for its cover story, she said, "I eat a healthy mix. I dropped weight because I've been listening to my doctor, a couple years I didn't."

Kelly went on to explain, "And 90 percent of the time I'm really good at it because a protein diet is good for me anyway." She stated, "I'm a Texas girl, so I like meat, sorry, vegetarians in the world!"

The Grammy-winning artist did not forget to share a number of activities that she has been doing to help her have a fit physique. "Walking in the city is quite the workout," she told the outlet. "And I'm really into infrared saunas right now. And I just got a cold plunge because everybody wore me down."

During the chat, Kelly also talked about her feelings before and after relocating from Los Angeles to New York City with her two children, 9-year-old River Rose and 7-year-old Remington Alexander. She candidly said, "I was very unhappy in L.A. and had been for several years. I needed a fresh start."

"I was going through a really rough few years, and even in the first season it was rough behind closed doors," she further recalled. "Just to be able to come into season 5 feeling good and knowing my kids feel good and the dust has settled. Season 5 is my first season to actually enjoy every minute of it."

About moving her hit talk show, she recalled, "We told NBC, 'I'm not trying to sound ungrateful, I just can't stay here anymore for my mental health; for me and my kids.' They weren't doing well either. For the past few years, I'd just been showing up and smiling and doing what I'm supposed to do, but you can only compartmentalize so long until you break."

Since the relocation, Kelly and her two kids, whom she shares with her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, have started their new habits. "We go walk the dogs a few times at the park. We'll go for ice cream because my daughter will wear me down. We'll go make slime and we go to the museum," she explained.
