AceShowbiz - Sophia Bush has opened up about what she is "supremely grateful" for in 2023. The former "One Tree Hill" star, who filed for divorce from Grant Hughes in August, revealed that she had a "deeply personal experience" and what lessons she learned from that.
The 41-year-old actress shared via Instagram what she went through in the past one year with the public. In a lengthy caption of her post, she wrote, "This past year humbled me, broke me, built me, betrayed me, freed me, and showed me what it means to really be alive. No more playing small. No more turning my back on myself. No more settling for what falls short because 'who am I to ask for more?' "
Sophia went on to say, "This year put me back in my body. I left it a long time ago, in such a way that I forgot what it felt like to inhabit my own skin. I feel my whole self from the tops of my ears to the tips of my toes now. It's breathtaking. Life giving. Affirming. This year taught me to listen to myself and no one else. To let go of expectation that wounds and grasp possibility that frees. To not care about optics and instead invest in honesty. The truest and deepest and purest kind."
"This year sent me inward," she continued. "More than I've ever been. It took me out of relationship with many of you but put me back into relationship with myself. I hope you are all doing well, but for this quiet and deeply personal experience I am supremely grateful. This year reminded me that we work like waves."
Sophia further added, "This year I started writing again. Almost every day. I found my inner voice, and got quiet enough to listen to it. This year I slowed down; first because illness forced me to. Second because recovery required more stillness. In that way both sickness and healing are a gift. For those gifts I am so grateful. Thank you, thank you, thank you to this life for teaching me. Thank you, thank you, thank you to this year that changed everything."
The new post came amid Sophia's alleged romance with former soccer star Ashlyn Harris. They have been linked since mid-October 2023, not long after it was revealed that the ex-soccer player filed for divorce from her estranged partner Ali Krieger on September 19.
One month later, Ali seemingly hinted that Ashlyn cheated on her by referring to Beyonce Knowles' 2016 album "Lemonade", which is about her husband Jay-Z's infidelity, in an Instagram post. Ali penned, "Preparing for playoffs while in my Beyonce lemonade era." On November 18, Ashlyn denied that she was unfaithful by writing, "Let me be clear: I did not step out on my marriage. I was always faithful in my marriage, if not always totally happy."
Though so, Ashlyn was spotted hanging out with Sophia several times, including one when the two were making their public appearance together at Art Basel in Miami Beach on December 7. At that time, they cheerfully posed for a picture with art dealer Michelle Tillo.
