AceShowbiz - After fighting to save the world in Marvel films, Sebastian Stan is set to enter the cutthroat world of business for his next acting gig. The actor has been tapped to star in a Donald Trump movie from Cannes prize-winning filmmaker Ali Abbasi.

"The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" star is set to play a young Trump in the film titled "The Apprentice", representatives for the film confirmed to CNN on Wednesday, November 29. The film focuses on young Trump as he builds his real estate business in New York City in the 1970s and '80s.

Besides Stan, Jeremy Strong and Maria Bakalova have also been cast for the movie. The "Succession" star will play Roy Cohn, a notorious lawyer and fixer whom Trump considered a mentor early in his career.

As for the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" actress, she will portray Ivana Trump, the former president's first wife and a businesswoman, who partnered with her then-husband on some of his most prominent real estate projects. The two divorced in 1992 and Ivana Trump died in July 2022.

According to a synopsis, "The Apprentice" is billed as an exploration of power and ambition set in a world of corruption and deceit. "It's a mentor-protege story that charts the origins of an American dynasty. Filled with larger than life characters, it reveals the moral and human cost of a culture defined by winners and losers," it reads.

Abbasi, whose most recent feature "Holy Spider" premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, will direct the movie with a script by Gabriel Sherman. Sherman is known for his biography of Fox News founder Roger Ailes, "The Loudest Voice in the Room", which was used as the basis for Showtime's 2019 miniseries "The Loudest Voice".
