Less than one month after Aaron's sudden passing, the 'Love in This Club' hitmaker recounts the time he spent with the drummer, whom he deems his 'hero' and a 'God sent.'

AceShowbiz - Usher could not help but burst into tears at Aaron Spears' funeral. Less than one month after the drummer's sudden passing, the "Love in This Club" hitmaker was emotional as he delivered a heartfelt speech.

On Friday, November 17, the 45-year-old R&B singer attended Aaron's "Celebration of Life" service, which was held at First Baptist Church of Glenarden Worship Center in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. In a video from the funeral obtained by a number of media outlets, he could be seen breaking down into tears.

In his speech, Usher said, "He was my hero, man. I couldn't let him know how I felt about him enough. But I hope that he saw it every time I picked up a pair of sticks and I went to drum. He meant that much to me, and he will continue to mean that much to me as a friend. That's an amazing force."

Usher went on to say, "I will always love Aaron Spears. I will have him in my mind no matter when I'm playing, where I'm playing, I always hear his rolls. I always hear him backing me up. He follows me everywhere I go, and I was like, 'Man, you caught that?! You cold, bro! You the baddest.' He was that dude." He continued, "I love you, A. Spears. I love you family like they're my own. I love you for making certain that you kept us together."

"And no matter where we were, no matter what was going on, that man would always just call," the "My Boo" singer further recalled. "He would encourage me. He would say, 'Man, you're gonna be alright.' He would say, 'Tonight is gonna be the most incredible night ever!' The opening night, he not even playing on the stage. I'm like, 'Man, Aaron, you are just God sent, man.' "

"I honor this man," Usher additionally stated. "I praise him for the person he is to each and every person in this room, because we recognize and we acknowledge him. We acknowledge him for what it is that he offered to us. We appreciate having these things. And I tell you, as you leave, appreciate the ones that you have while you have them. Honor them and let them know how you feel about them."

Aaron passed away on October 30. His wife issued a statement that read, "It is with a heavy heart and overwhelming sadness that I share the news of the passing of my beloved husband, Aaron Spears. Aaron was not only an incredibly accomplished drummer, admired by many for his unparalleled talent and passion for music, but he was also a devoted father to our precious son, August." However, the reason behind his death was not revealed.

Following Aaron's passing, a number of famous singers, including Usher, Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, made use of their Instagram accounts to pay tribute to the late drummer. On November 3, Usher lamented, "I cry these tears of joy daily, wishing I could pick up the phone and hear your voice one last time. We always said I love you before hangin up. I'm gonna miss you man!!"
