In a new interview, the 'Killers of the Flower Moon' actor declares that he has voiced his appreciation to the 'Border Run' actress 'many times' for her generosity.

AceShowbiz - Leonardo DiCaprio could not thank Sharon Stone enough for her generosity. In a new interview, the "Killers of the Flower Moon" actor praised the "amazing" actress for paying his salary in their 1995 movie "The Quick and the Dead" that she co-produced with TriStar Pictures.
In an interview with Keltie Knight from E! News published on Friday, November 17, the 49-year-old actor revealed that the studio wasn't interested in hiring him, who was an up-and-coming actor back then, but the 65-year-old actress wanted to work with him. "I've thanked her many times," he said. "I don't know if I sent her an actual, physical thank you gift, but I cannot thank her enough."
Leonardo explained that Sharon wanted to work with him and Russell Crowe after seeing their potential. He said that "she did that with myself and Russell Crowe at the time" after she recognized his work in 1993 movie "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" and Russell's acting in 1992 film "Romper Stomper".
The "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" actor recounted, "She said, 'These are the two actors I want to work with.' " He further exclaimed, "It's incredible. She's been a huge champion of cinema and giving other actors opportunities." He additionally declared, "So I'm very thankful."
Previously, Sharon talked about her decision to pay Leonardo's salary out of her own pocket in her memoir titled "The Beauty of Living Twice", which hit bookshelves back in 2021. In the book, she reportedly penned, via Insider, "This kid named Leonardo DiCaprio was the only one who nailed the audition, in my opinion."
"He was the only one who came in and cried, begging his father to love him as he died in the scene," she went on to explain. However, she was later asked by the studio as she recalled, " 'Why an unknown, Sharon, why are you always shooting yourself in the foot?' The studio said if I wanted him so much, I could pay him out of my own salary. So I did."
