AceShowbiz - Adriana Lima has broken her silence on criticisms of her appearance. Shortly after being accused of undergoing plastic surgery due to her unrecognizable look, the former Victoria's Secret model has clapped back by sharing a makeup-free photo via social media.
On Wednesday, November 15, the 42-year-old beauty made use of Instagram Story to upload a selfie, wherein she proudly showed off her face without makeup and photo filters. Over the snap, she penned, "The face of a tired mom of one teenage girl, two pre-teens one active boy, a 1-year-old learning to walk, and three dogs . . . thanks for your concern."
In the snap, Adriana could be seen striking a pose in what appeared to be the kitchen of her house. While styling her long dark-colored hair into a sleek ponytail, she looked stunning despite not wearing any makeup. She was sporting a black hoodie that came with white graphics on its front side and carried a seemingly black bag on her shoulder.
The new photo came only one day after Adriana appeared unrecognizable while attending a public event. On Tuesday, November 14, she made an appearance at the premiere of "The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" in Los Angeles. She hit the red carpet of the event with heavy makeup, including red lipstick, long lashes, bold eyeshadow and thick eyeliner.
The model was wearing a black-and-red stylish ensemble, consisting of a body-fitted black dress that came with long-sleeves, red veils on its ruffles, a high neck design and red line on its bodice. She completed the look with a pair of sheer black tights, red earrings and matching pointed-toe high heels. Her hair was styled into a simple straight hairdo and parted to the side.
Instead of praises, Adriana was bombarded with unpleasant responses regarding her look. In the comments section of an Instagram post, one naysayer penned, "She was probably getting a face-lift and missed the ozempic memo." Another joined in, "Looks like a facelift. My mom looked like that for months after hers. It'll settle. Her body. Her choice."
A third wrote, "Big mistake some people do is getting Botox days before an event she looks swollen. But still beautiful." Similarly, a fourth stated, "This feels like a mental illness honestly. Why is everyone getting facelifts to look like this?"
