Breaking her silence on the death of the 'Friends' alum, the literary manager says that she is grateful for the late actor's 'profound impact' on her despite calling him a 'complicated' person.

AceShowbiz - Matthew Perry's ex-fiancee Molly Hurwitz has spoken out following the shocking passing of the actor. Reacting to his death via social media, she reflected on their good time together despite calling him a "complicated" person.

In her Instagram post uploaded on Monday, October 30, Molly shared a picture of Matthew's silhouette against a European city scape. She said about how the "Friends" alum was so proud of his acting on the show.

"He would love that the world is talking about how talented he was. And he really was very talented," she praised him, before recalling, "As the 'Friends' reunion was approaching, we rewatched the show together. 'F**k, I was so good!!!...See what I did there???' We rewound and studied scenes. Our respect and appreciation of humor is something that connected us. Being with him as he rediscovered his brilliance was magical."

The literary manager, who was engaged to Matthew before they split in 2021, continued, "But, I obviously knew that man in a very different way, too. While I loved him deeper than I could comprehend, he was complicated, and he caused pain like I'd never known. No one in my adult life has had a more profound impact on me than Matthew Langford Perry. I have tremendous gratitude for that, for everything I learned from our relationship."

Noting Matthew's struggle with alcohol addiction, Molly shared, "I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Al Anon, an invaluable resource for those who love someone struggling with this destructive disease." As she witnessed his battle with his inner demons before his death, Molly concluded her statement, "Matty, I feel relief that you are at peace."

Matthew's former assistant and best friend Briana Brancato has also reacted to his sudden passing. "I've expressed my deepest gratitude to him on numerous occasions, not only for guiding me into a career I cherish but also for allowing me to take care of him for 7 years. Along w the countless other experiences I'm thankful for," she wrote. "From witnessing him in his genius to sharing in his worldly adventures living around the world, he took me on a remarkable journey."

Briana admitted, "My heart is heavy, but celebrating my memories is the most profound way to honor his legacy." She then poignantly wrote, "I hope that up there, in the great beyond, Mattman is sending us signs. We truly need them. You'll forever be in my heart. I love you Matty."

Matthew was found unresponsive in his hot tub at his home in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles on Saturday, October 28. He was 54. On Sunday, the cause of death was listed as "deferred" by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office, pending toxicology reports that may take weeks to arrive, but police have ruled out foul play.

In a joint statement mourning his death, his "Friends" co-stars David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc said, "We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just castmates. We are a family. There is so much to say, but right now we're going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss."
