AceShowbiz - Sexyy Red has cleared the air amid speculations that she shaded Latto (Mulatto) over True Religion pants. Setting the record straight, the "Pound Town 2" raptress made it clear that she's not beefing with the "Seven" hitmaker.
On Tuesday, October 24, Sexyy reacted to a fan who accused her of being "shady when after Latto was just photographed in True Religion jeans at 21 Savage's party." The fan added, "Sexyy conveniently shared a post that no one wearing the brand until she came out. Latto followed by liking a few tweets."
In response to the speculations, Sexyy wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, "Definitely not shading her." She also stressed, "I'm direct wit it whatever I gotta say."
The rumors that the two hip-hop stars first emerged after fans noticed that they appeared to share subliminal posts toward each other on social media. Earlier this week, Sexyy reshared a fan's post that read, "All these celebrities wasn't wearing @truereligion until @sexyyred came out."
Fans believed that the post was meant for Latto, who shared a video of her and a group of friends twerking and turning up to throwback music in True Religion jeans. The "Put It on Da Floor" rapper then appeared to fuel the beef rumors with a eyebrow-raising post where she wrote, "They be knowing what they doing lol very weird…."
She added, "if u not from Atlanta this not for u!" Not stopping there, the "Big Energy" spitter shared several throwback photos on her IG Story of her rocking True Religion even before she found fame.
Internet users, meanwhile, didn't think it was necessary to beef over clothes. "All this over a brand that went bankrupt," one person said in an Instagram comment. Slamming Latto for creating narrative, one other wrote, "Latto is such a bitter 35 year old lady."
"Why do ppl beef over clothes they didn't make ? That s**t been out an is I. Mass production meaning it's for everybody. Even I wore it before sexy red. Come on who tf cares," one person said. Echoing the sentiment, one other noted, "Does it matter who wore what first? This ain't highschool. People can do and buy what they want with their money! This is childish."
