While some expected shows and stars are up for awards, fans can't help but surprised that some overlooked performers and shows were snubbed this year's award-giving event.

AceShowbiz - The nominations for the 2023 Primetime Emmy Awards were finally announced on Wednesday, July 12. While some expected shows and stars are up for awards, fans were surprised that some overlooked performers and shows were snubbed this year. Among the biggest snubs at the 2023 Emmy nominations were "Yellowstone" and "Harry & Meghan".

"Yellowstone" may be one of the biggest TV shows in America, but that apparently doesn't make it easier for the Paramount Network's show to get recognition from the Television Academy. The show, which was created by Taylor Sheridan, and its leading actor Kevin Costner were snubbed again at the award-giving event as it didn't receive a single nomination this year.

Fans were unsurprisingly furious over the snub. "I'm surprised that #Yellowstone hasn't been nominated in its three years; great writing, great acting #EmmySnub #EmmyFail #Emmy #EmmyNominations," a fan put the organization on blast.

"Kelly Reilly and @Yellowstone being passed over for the Emmy's again is a travesty. She's consistently the best actress on TV with such a well written story, cast and crew. If you're not watching, change that ASAP!" another fan tweeted, referring to the actress who plays Beth Dutton on the neo-Western drama series.

Another big show that failed to score a single nomination at the annual 75th Emmys was Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's bombshell docuseries "Harry & Meghan". The Netflix show didn't make the cut to the award event's 25 leading categories within the realms of comedy, drama and limited series.

Fans additionally expected to see "Love & Death" star Elizabeth Olsen to be among the nominees at the Emmys. While Jesse Plemons got nominated for his role as Allan Gore, Elizabeth was surprisingly passed over despite her stunning portrayal of murderer Candy Montgomery on the series. Harrison Ford was also snubbed despite his excellent work on both "Shrinking" and "Yellowstone" spin-off "1923".

The 75th annual Emmy Awards is scheduled to take place on September 18, though a recent report suggested that it most likely will be postponed to either a November or January 2024 date.
