AceShowbiz - Shawn Johnson is expanding her family. Revealing that she and her husband Andrew East are expecting their third child together, the retired Olympic gymnast showed off her baby bump on social media.
The 31-year-old mom broke the exciting news via Instagram on Wednesday, July 12. She first shared a picture of her sitting at an ancient stadium in Greece before following it up with an image of her posing with her bump to the side.
"Swipe for a surprise," Shawn simply wrote in the caption. The post has since been flooded with congratulatory comments from her friends, with Lindsay Arnold gushing, "OMG YAY CONGRATS." Season 15 lead of "The Bachelorette" Hannah Brown exclaimed, "Yayyy!! The cutest lil' bump."
Andrew, for his part, also shared the announcement on his own Instagram page. Posting a video montage of the times his wife, who he married in 2016, told him they were pregnant, he penned, "here we go again." The clip itself featured scenes from 2017, 2019 and 2020, as well as this year.
Back in October 2022, Shawn reflected on the moment she suffered pregnancy loss. "October 19th… always hits a little hard for me in such a bittersweet way. It was the day I miscarried our first baby in 2017 but then a little over a year later I was told it was the due date of Drew Hazel," she recalled.
I always wake up a little sad and a little somber on 10/19 but God works in such beautiful ways," the athlete further noted. "I'll meet you in heaven some day sweet angel.
