While promoting 'Self-Destruction Mode', his band's latest single with bludnymph, the one half of the EDM duo confesses he has 'struggled with drinking throughout' his career.

AceShowbiz - Drew Taggart has put his "guilt" on the blame for his alcohol addiction. When promoting his band's new single with bludnymph titled "Self-Destruction Mode", the one half of The Chainsmokers got candid about his struggles with drinking.

On Wednesday, June 14, the 33-year-old let out a video on his band's Instagram account. Along with the clip, he made the revelation in the caption, "I've struggled with drinking throughout my career as it's an addiction that's woven into the environment we exist in."

The musician went on to explain, "This guilt of not being good enough or not being better ironically sends me into a spiral that restarts my bad habit cycle." He further talked about his group's new track, "This song isnt a cry for help. But more of an embrace or celebration of all that i am. I know that im flawed."

Drew did not forget to send encouragement to others struggling with the same addiction, "I know that i am great and so are you. Never forget it." In the clip, he could be seen sitting in front of a piano. He set the background music to his band's latest single.

Drew's candid revelation about his alcohol addiction received positive responses. Among the many leaving their reactions in the comments section of the post, professional skateboarder Nyjah Huston found Drew's struggle relatable. He replied, "I feel that. Well said brother."

Other Instagram users sent encouraging responses. Some of them read, " 'The guilt of not being good enough' FELT [sad face emoji] I get this completely, much love man," "Alcohol is the true gateway drugs.. thank you for sharing and being vulnerable," and "Look after your body sir! You can do it! Deprioritizing alcohol was the best thing - not cutting- just lessening my consumption [red heart emoji]."

Drew's candid post came a few months after he and his bandmate Alex Pall admitted to having threesomes with their fans. In a January episode of "Call Her Daddy" podcast, Alex recalled, "I think we were both like, 'What the f**k just happened?' ... Because they were never planned, you know what I mean? It's weird... I'm not gonna lie." Drew added, "[The] European government doesn't separate their beds."
