Following the footsteps of Michael Caine and Robert Downey Jr. among others, the 'Justice League' star will bring Sherlock Homes back to the big screen with his casting in the film adaptation.

AceShowbiz - Superman Henry Cavill is set to take on another complicated fictional hero after signing on to portray Sherlock Homes in the upcoming movie adaptation of Nancy Springer's "Enola Holmes Mysteries".
Millie Bobby Brown is attached to play the titular character, while Helena Bonham Carter will portray her mum in the film, to be directed by Harry Bradbeer.
Springer's six-book series, which launched in 2006, chronicles the adventures of Sherlock Holmes' much younger sister, Enola, as she investigates mysteries.
Cavill will join a long list of actors who have played Arthur Conan Doyle's beloved detective on the big screen - they include Michael Caine, Basil Rathbone, and Robert Downey Jr..
