A source reveals that things are not as complicated as people may think because the former couple allegedly has something in common.

AceShowbiz - Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's divorce was officially finalized on Wednesday, November 7 after they announced their split in 2015 and filed for divorce in April 2017. Now that the two have officially drawn to a close, people may be wondering how they are going to move forward and what plans they have regarding their three kids.
A source, however, reveals to Entertainment Tonight that things are not as complicated as people may think because the former couple allegedly has something in common: putting their kids as first priority. "Ben and Jen have been dedicated to making sure their divorce doesn't affect their kids," the source says of the former spouse, who share Sam (6), Violet (12) and Seraphina (9) together.
"They want to keep the communication healthy so that they can make decisions together in the best interest of their children," the source continues. "It's been wonderful for Jen that Ben has been so present and involved. She wants to do this right and everyone is so incredibly proud of her for rising above the past and putting the kids first."
The "Justice League" actor reportedly "has been very open with Jen about his long-term plans to stay sober and all of his counselors and sponsors are encouraging him to keep her involved." Spending time with his kids is a big help to him because they are "a major motivation for him to stay sober." The source adds, "They are taking it one day at a time and that's been working. Their family life gets better every day."
Ben and Jennifer settled the divorce without hiring a lawyer, although top California legal eagle Laura Wasser served as a mediator for the two parties. According to the documents, Affleck and his now-ex will share joint custody of their children and they have also agreed to meet with a co-parenting therapist on a monthly basis for a minimum of six months.
They did not have a prenuptial agreement, and Ben and Jen agreed on a property split.
While Ben recently ended his fling with 22-year-old Playboy model Shauna Sexton, the "Peppermint" actress is rumored to be dating businessman John Miller. Previous reports suggested that the "Alias" alum and the chairman and CEO of Cali Group, a holding company that works to innovate technology in both the restaurant and retail industries, had been going on a number of dates while careful to stay out of the public eye.
Ben allegedly is happy to know that Jen has found a new man in her life. "Ben will always want the best for Jen," a Ben pal previously said. "They continue to have a really strong relationship and both work very hard to make everything easy for the kids. She has always been supportive of him."
