The 'Umbrella' hitmaker's legal team has sent a cease and desist letter to the president's White House counsel after the latter played 'Don't Stop the Music' at a recent rally.

AceShowbiz - Rihanna is keeping her promise to stop Donald Trump from playing her music ever again at his political rallies. The Barbadian singer has become the latest artist to send a cease and desist letter to POTUS after the latter played her music at a recent campaign.

In a letter obtained by Rolling Stone, her legal team wrote to Trump's White House counsel, "It has come to our attention that President Trump has utilized [Rihanna's] musical compositions and master recordings, including her hit track 'Don't Stop the Music', in connection with a number of political events held across the United States."

Rihanna's team went on saying that the Fenty Beauty founder had not "provided her consent to Mr. Trump to use her music. Such use is therefore improper." They also claimed that Trump's use of her music "creates a false impression that Ms. Fenty is affiliated with, connected to or otherwise associated with Trump."

The letter arrived just a day after the "Umbrella" hitmaker found out that the president played "Don't Stop the Music" at his rally in Chattanooga, Tennessee. According to Washington Post correspondent Philip Rucker, the crowd was loving his move to play the song. But Rihanna was certainly not one of them. In response to the reporter, she said, "Not for much longer...me nor my people would ever be at or around one of those tragic rallies, so thanks for the heads up philip!"

Prior to Rihanna, Pharrell Williams sent a cease and desist letter to Trump after the latter played his hit song "Happy" at a Midwest rally hours after Pittsburgh synagogue shooting. His attorney Howard King noted in the letter that "there was nothing 'happy' about the tragedy inflicted upon our country on Saturday and no permission was granted for your use of this song for this purpose."

Other musicians who have sent the 72-year-old cease and desist letters include Prince's estate and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith.
