AceShowbiz - Cardi B's new single "Money" is coming out earlier than its schedule. The "Bartier Cardi" femcee released the much-anticipated song on Tuesday, October 23, her first single as a lead artist since unleashing her debut album "Invasion of Privacy". It additionally marks her return to the hard New York boom-bap root which defined her breakout single "Bodak Yellow".
Just like what the title has suggested, the song unsurprisingly revolves around her undying love for money even though she admits to enjoying the perks of her new found fame. However, towards the end of the song, she notes that her daughter with husband Offset, Kulture, will always come first.
"I like boardin' jets, I like morning sex/ But nothing in this world that I like more than Kulture," she raps over bass-heavy, stripped-down beats. "All I really wanna see is the (Money)/ I don't really need the D, I need the (Money)."
Not only giving a shout out to her baby daughter, but Cardi also makes a reference to "Black Panther" on the song by rhyming the Marvel movie's famous catchphrase. "B***h, I will black on your a**," she spits. "Wakanda forever."
"Money" was supposed to drop on Thursday, October 26, but Cardi decided to release it a few days early after the single prematurely made its way out on the internet. In an Instagram video, the Bronx rapper appeared to blame fans of Nicki Minaj for spreading news of the leak.
"We tried to retract [the song] but you know... the Barbs. They always posting me. They always post everything I do," she said in the clip. "They claim they hate me but they really love me because they be on my page before my fans. Everything that I do, they be on it before my fans so clearly, that seems like love to me."
