The boyfriend of the 'Blank Space' hitmaker weighs in on the issue when he hits the red carpet for the U.K. premiere of his upcoming film, 'The Favourite', at the 62nd BFI London Film Festival.

AceShowbiz - Joe Alwyn is showing full support to Taylor Swift for being vocal about her political stance. While he prefers to keep his romance with the "Blank Space" hitmaker under the radar, the leading man of "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk" acknowledged the importance of his girlfriend’s recent midterm election posts.
The 27-year-old actor was asked to comment on the issue when he made an appearance on the red carpet for the U.K. premiere of his period comedy film, "The Favourite", held at the 62nd BFI London Film Festival. Looking dapper in a black turtleneck and a royal blue Prada suit, he simply said, "I think it's great. I think it's important."
Taylor broke her silence on politics in early October. On October 7, the "Look What You Made Me Do" songstress took to her Instagram account to share a lengthy message, voicing her support to Democratic candidates. "I'm writing this post about the upcoming midterm elections on November 6th, in which I'll be voting in the state of Tennessee," she opened her post.
"In the past I've been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now," she continued on. "I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for the human rights I believe we all deserve in this country."
Detailing reasons why she could not vote for Republican Marsha Blackburn, she further noted, "I will be voting for Phil Bredesen for Senate and Jim Cooper for House of Representatives." She ended her post with pleas to her fans to register to vote. "But first you need to register, which is quick and easy to do. October 9th is the LAST DAY to register to vote in the state of TN," she reminded.
A few days after, Taylor urged people to cast their votes early. "Something I wish I knew about when I was 18 and voting for the first time: EARLY VOTING," she wrote. "It makes it so quick and easy to go and cast your vote before November 6. Early voting starts TODAY in Tennessee and goes to Nov 1."
In the romance department, Joe and Taylor were first linked as a couple back in May 2017. The lovebirds, however, managed to keep their romance away from prying eyes. Joe, in particular, has stated that he prefers to keep his relationship with the country singer turned pop artist on the down low.
In the latest interview with British Vogue, the "Operation Finale" actor dodged going into details of the romance as he explained, "I'm aware people want to know about that side of things (his personal life). I think we have been successfully very private and that has now sunk in for people... but I really prefer to talk about work."
