However, a source notes that it doesn't mean that The Weeknd 'doesn't care though, because he does.'

AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez recently made headlines after being reported to check into a mental health facility following an alleged breakdown. Many have expressed concerns over the singer's health after the news broke and even her ex Justin Bieber was photographed crying allegedly over her. However, it didn't seem to be the same case for Selena's other ex The Weeknd.

According to a new report, the "Starboy" hitmaker "has not reached out to Selena, or her family, and he has no intentions of doing so right now." A source close to the Canadian singer, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, adds to HollywoodLife.com, "Do not take that as meaning he doesn't care though, because he does-- of course he does."

As to why The Weeknd, who is now getting back together with Bella Hadid, doesn't reach out to her, the source notes, "He just doesn't want to potentially stir the pot or unintentionally cause any more issues for Selena."

"It's not like Selena is dealing with this on her own -- if she was, then it might be different -- but, Abel knows she has a loving support network around her looking out for her best interests, so it would serve no purpose for him to wade in too," the source says.

"When Selena finishes treatment and she's regained her emotional wellbeing, Abel may reach out to her then with a nice email," the source continues. "But for now he's steering clear, which is probably the wisest thing he could possibly do because this is about Selena right now, not Abel."

Selena had a meltdown during a hospital visit at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on October 10. The "Back to You" hitmaker is said to be currently receiving dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) at an East Coast psychiatric facility, the same therapy that she used to receive in the past. "She really likes DBT and is a huge advocate of it," a source shared. "She wanted to go back. She gets a lot out of doing it."
