Unlike the previous amputation on the series, this time around a walker is not the culprit behind the recent amputation.

AceShowbiz - A character is losing a limb in the October 14 episode of "The Walking Dead" season 9. It's been a while since someone was amputated on the series with the latest one was when Herschel's leg was cut off after being bitten by a walker back in season 3. However, the recent amputation didn't see a walker as the culprit.

[SPOILER ALERT!] The latest character to lose an arm was Aaron (Ross Marquand). The gory accident went down when a huge tree trunk fell on him while he was rebuilding a bridge alongside Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and some other Saviors.

A herd of walkers were then approaching, sending one of the guys into panic which made him drop his end of the massive log. Trapped, Aaron couldn't move and asked Rick to just leave him.

Unsurprisingly, Rick ignored Aaron's request and continued taking on the rest of zombies. Once they had cleared out the undead, they attempt to get Aaron out. His limb did emerge after multiple men worked together to free him. However, his arm looked awfully gory that they decided to just amputate his arm.

Edin was in charge, and despite her young age, she looked pretty much confident in giving the treatment to Aaron as she's been assisting Siddiq, the doctor on site, multiple times. Viewers were put in a killing suspense after Edin said that there was no time for anesthesia, indicating that she would perform the treatment while Aaron was pretty much concious. Fortunately, the next thing fans saw was Aaroon lying in the same bed with a bandage wrapped around his nub and alive.

Of his character's serious injury, Marquand said, "When Angela [Kang] presented the idea to me at the beginning of the season, I thought it was fantastic. I love the idea of having the extra challenge. As a character, losing an arm is a significant one."

"It's been interesting because I've been tying my arm up behind my back because I've been trying to get in the habit of not using it. Not all the time, of course, but when I'm at home and when I can get away with using one hand, I just try to keep it immobile," he added. "It's been great because you realize that the biggest thing that comes with that is, obviously the sadness of losing a limb, but also the frustration of it. There's this immense frustration of not being able to do the things you do. I've talked to a few people who have lost limbs and that's the thing that keeps coming back is just this frustration."

"The Walking Dead" season 9 airs on Sundays at 9 P.M. on AMC.
