The Canadian hip-hop superstar breaks his silence on his controversial feud with the Yeezy founder and Pusha T in the latest episode of HBO's 'The Shop'.

AceShowbiz - Drake has finally broken his silence on his controversial feud with Kanye West and Pusha T. During a wide-ranging interview on HBO's "The Shop", the Canadian hip-hop superstar recalled how his beef with the G.O.O.D. Music founder first started.

Speaking to LeBron James and Maverick Carter, Drake claimed that Kanye offered to help him with his music because he wanted to be like Quincy Jones. However, Kanye gave him several conditions if he really wanted his help, and that was being transparent with the "Gold Digger" hitmaker. Drake had to play his music to Kanye and tell him when he would release it.

"And so I was in the studio, guess we all kind of felt a genuine vibe from it. So I play him my music, and I told him when I was dropping," Drake said, revealing that "Lift Yourself" was actually a song that Kanye wanted to give to him. "He was like, 'Yo, you can have this if you want.' And I was hype. I started writing to it. And then he was like, 'Yo, you gotta come to Wyoming.' So Wyoming happened."

Drake believed that they would be working on their collaboration there, so he was shocked when his producer told him that Kanye was working on his own album instead. Still, Drake went to the place and spent majority of his time working on the "Stronger" rapper's music and tried to cook up ideas for him.

During his stay, the "God's Plan" hitmaker played "March 14" for Kanye and even showed him a picture of his then-secret son. "I tell him I'm having trouble with my son's mother. We had a conversation," he recalled.

Several days later, Drake woke up only to find Kanye releasing "Lift Yourself". He shared, " 'Lift Yourself' comes out with him just talking nonsense. Oh this guy's trolling me. This was a manipulative, like, 'I wanna break you' thing. So I said alright. I'm gonna go back to distancing myself again. I know what this is."

He became more disappointed when Pusha unveiled his album, which was produced by Kanye. One track off the album was a diss track aimed at the "Hotline Bling" spitter. "I was just there with you as friends helping you, and now you're dissing me. So I'm like, man, this is dark," he explained.

Drake then went on discussing his feud with Pusha, who spilled the beans about his fatherhood on track "The Story of Adidon". But his secret child was not the thing that made Drake mad about the diss track, it was a verse which wished upon death to his friend who was sick.

"Now when you mention defenseless people who are sick in the hospital, that passed away, that really sent me to a place where I just believed then, and believe now, that there's just a price that you have to pay for that," he explained. "Someone's gonna f***ing punch you in the f***ing face. The s**t's done, the event's over. I wanted to do other things. I didn't wanna further your reputation or your career by rapping back at you and having this exchange. And that was it for me."

Drake actually had recorded a response to the diss song, but he decided not to release that because it wasn't something he "ever wanna be remembered for." Describing the song as "trash" but had genius "chess move," he said, "I either go all the way filthy or I fall back and I have this sort of chink in my armor for the rest of time to a rap purist. Which is fine, I can live with that."

"I would much rather live with that than the things that I was about to... the research I did, the things that I was gonna say, and the places that I was gonna go," he added. "Not only for him, but the other guy too."
