John Legend Officially Kicks Off His Holiday Season With Two Christmas Songs
Music

The EGOT winner releases a jazzy rendition of 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas' and an original song titled 'Bring Me Love' off his upcoming Christmas album.

AceShowbiz - John Legend is already celebrating Christmas when everyone else is getting ready for Halloween. The EGOT winner has released the first two songs off his upcoming Christmas album, a jazzy rendition of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and original song "Bring Me Love".

The "All of Me" hitmaker enlists Esperanza Spalding for his version of the yuletide classic. John displays his dramatic vibrato over electric guitar, organ, upright bass and wild drums as his collaborator provides magnificent backing vocals. The song clearly makes fans forget that December is still two months away.

Meanwhile, "Bring Me Love" finds John wanting love from a special someone for the holidays because he has been a good boy this year. "I don't need my stalking filled with toys/ I don't need no gifts to bring me joy," he sings over soulful melodies. "Baby, I haven't hung my mistletoe/ Because without you baby I don't see no point."

Both songs are included on his first Christmas album, "A Legendary Christmas", which is due out October 26 via Columbia Records. Executive produced by Raphael Saadiq, the album will include other classics such as "Silver Bells", "Christmas Time Is Here" and "The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)". Stevie Wonder will appear on the set, playing harmonica on "What Christmas Means to Me".

Following the release of the album, John will embark on a North American tour in support of the album. The 25-date trek will launch on November 15 at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Florida and run through December 30 at San Diego Civic Theatre in San Diego, California. Tickets go on sale to general public starting from Friday, October 5, but a special fan pre-sale is available on Monday, October 1 via the singer's website.
