The 'Scary Movie 5' actor has pleaded not guilty to fourth-degree assault following an altercation with a driver in Portland, but was held behind bars for skipping a court date in Hall County.

AceShowbiz - Troubled comedian Katt Williams has dodged extradition to Georgia following his arrest on suspicion of assault in Portland, Oregon.

The actor was taken into custody on Saturday, October 06, after becoming involved in an allegedly violent altercation with a cab driver.

He pleaded not guilty to fourth-degree assault on Monday, but was held behind bars as police discovered there was also a felony warrant out for Williams' arrest for skipping a court date in Hall County, Georgia last month.

However, authorities there decided not to seek his extradition, reportedly relating to a previous drug bust, and Williams was released on Tuesday afternoon, according to TMZ.com.

He is next due to in court in Portland on 16 November.

Georgia officials have not revealed the reason behind their decision, but Williams reportedly missed his hearing there to attend the Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, where he was honoured for his guest role in hit TV comedy "Atlanta".
