The Canadian heartthrob is announced as the winner for Favorite Artist - Adult Contemporary, the same award which he nabbed last year.

AceShowbiz - The 2018 American Music Awards continued. After Shawn Mendes, Mariah Carey and Ella Mai hit the stage to perform their respective sets, Khalid was announced as the winner of Favorite Male Artist Soul/R&B. He gave a shout out to his mom, fans and family during his acceptance speech.

Ashlee Simpson and her husband, Evan Ross, then were on hand to reveal the act who took home Favorite Song Pop/Rock. It turned out to be Camila Cabello, whose Young Thug-assisted song "Havana" took over the world by storm.

Shortly after that, Carrie Underwood happily accepted her Favorite Female Artist - Country from Sara Gilbert and Thomas Rhett, who were twinning in black. The achievement marked the "American Idol" alum's thirteenth win at the show, and she couldn't be any happier about that during her acceptance speech.

After winning an award, Khalid took the audience to "Eastside" along with Benny Blanco and Halsey. They delivered rendition of the song from a fake-dorm style room. It was time to announce the next winner. Billy Eichner and Kathryn Hahn took the stage to present Favorite Artist - Adult Contemporary after encouraging young people to register to vote. The award went to Shawn, marking her second time in a row nabbing it.

Later on, Rita Ora teamed up with Constance Wu to reveal the winner of Favorite Duo or Group - Pop/Rock Duo. Migos won the prize, even though they are considered a hip-hop group rather than a pop/rock one. Offset and Quavo took the stage to accept the award, but Takeoff was nowhere to be found. The two still mentioned him though, saying, "Hey, Takeoff. Yo bro, yes sir we brought it home," while showing off the trophy to the camera.
