The Olympic skier's wife, Morgan Beck, gave birth to their third child together on October 5, just four months after they lost their 19-month-old daughter in a freak pool incident.

AceShowbiz - Olympic skier Bode Miller has become a father to a new baby boy, four months after the tragic death of his daughter.

The U.S. sportsman and his wife Morgan confirmed to People.com that their son, whose name they have yet to announce, was born on Friday afternoon, October 05.

Morgan had been around five months pregnant when their 19-month-old daughter Emeline Grier passed away in June. She was found floating in a pool at a neighbour's party, and it was later revealed that the little girl had slipped outside and fell into the water while Morgan had been indoors at the bash.

The couple's midwife Lindsey Meehleis told U.S. morning show "Today" that the boy was born in a birth pool at home, the same way as Emeline.

"Exactly one month before Emmy's second birthday... the sun rose and they knew this day would be different. An overwhelming feeling of joy started to fill a valley of deep grief and sadness," Meehleis said.

"Morgan's fingers grasped onto their son, who filled such empty arms. While nothing will ever replace the feeling of aching arms to hold Emmy again, this baby provided something new this day: joy, inspiration and hope."

The couple married in 2012 and are also parents a three-year-old son named Nash. Miller, 40, is also father to son Samuel, five, and daughter Neesyn, 10, from previous relationships.
