The 'Scary Movie 5' actor was arrested on October 6, a day after he allegedly had an argument with the driver that left the latter with swelling and cuts on his face.

AceShowbiz - Comedian Katt Williams was arrested on suspicion of assault in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday, October 6.

The 47-year-old was charged with assault in the fourth degree after an argument with a hired driver about taking him and his dog from the airport to a scheduled gig at Nick Cannon's "Wild 'N Out" comedy show on Friday night. According to Port of Portland police, the driver was left with swelling and cuts on his face following the altercation. Williams, real name Micah Williams, left after the row in another vehicle and was arrested on Saturday. He was also arrested on an out of state warrant from Georgia.

An arraignment is set for Monday and Williams is currently in jail in Portland.

The incident is the latest in a string of legal troubles for Williams. He was sentenced to 36 months' probation after pleading no contest to assault and battery charges in December 2016. He also pleaded no contest to a separate Georgia case involving guns and drugs that month, for which he was sentenced to five years' probation.

The troubled comedian was also arrested in September 2016, amid allegations he caused criminal damage to property. Upon appearing in a Fulton County court in Georgia on 15 September 2016 in a bid to have a previous bench warrant for his arrest dismissed, officials discovered there was another notice calling for his incarceration, and he was taken into custody and booked on the second-degree charge.

The warrant related to an incident in February 2016, when Williams reportedly damaged a man's cell phone. He was released on bail on 16 September that year.
