Marvel Plans 'Dark Avengers' Movie for Post-'Avengers 4' Phase

The script for the upcoming big crossover film has reportedly been completed, as the project is expected to follow-up the conclusion of MCU's Phase 3.

AceShowbiz - As Marvel Cinematic Universe is nearing the end of its Phase 3, Marvel Studios has been prepping some new projects to follow-up "Avengers 4". Words are one of the new movies that are currently in development is a "Dark Avengers" adaptation.

According to The Hashtag Show, the studio has completed the script for the upcoming big crossover film. However, the site notes that Marvel "has many scripts for many projects," but not all of them will make it to the big screen.

"Dark Avengers" was created by Brian Michael Bendis and was first published in 2019. The story picks up in the aftermath of the Skrull Secret Invasion. With the people and the government having lost faith in the Avengers, Norman Osborn is appointed head of the reformed S.H.I.E.L.D., now known as H.A.M.M.E.R.. He turns Thunderbolts, a team that started out as a group of super villains, into the new Avengers under new heroic identities.

The teams includes Sentry, Ares, Noh-Varr as well as disguised supervillains Mac Gargan (as Spider-Man), Moonstone (as Captain Marvel), Bullseye (as Hawkeye), Wolverine's disgruntled son Daken (as Wolverine) and Norman in the Iron Patriot armor.

"Avengers 4" is slated to bow in U.S. theaters on May 3, 2019. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Josh Brolin and Paul Rudd are among actors expected to reprise their respective roles in the movie.

The movie recently underwent reshoot and Evans has bid farewell to Captain America as he wrapped up the filming. The upcoming film marks the end of the actor's run as the Marvel superhero, as he has completed his multi-movie deal with the Marvel Studios.

On October 4, he posted an emotional message on Twitter, "Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful."
