Today I was arrested protesting the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, a man who has been accused by multiple women of sexual assault. Men who hurt women can no longer be placed in positions of power. Kavanaugh’s confirmation as a Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States is a message to women in this country that they do not matter. I demand a government that acknowledges, respects and supports women as much as it does men.
Both women were taken inside the Senate office building on Capitol Hill, where a police officer reportedly asked Amy if she wanted to be arrested. The defiant star said yes.
Schumer and Ratajkowski were later spotted among a line-up of activists, who were being detained.
Kavanaugh stood before the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee last week (ends September 28) and denied all the allegations against him shortly after Dr. Christine Blasey Ford testified she had been sexually assaulted by him when they were students at college.
FBI bosses have handed over the findings from their investigations, which proved no wrongdoing.
A vote to confirm President Donald Trump's personal pick to the Supreme Court will be held on Saturday, October 06.
