AceShowbiz - G-Eazy is still enjoying summer while everyone has already been in full autumn mood. The rapper, whose real name is Gerald Earl Gillum, has recruited YG for a song entitled "Endless Summer Freestyle", which was released on Tuesday, October 2.
The almost four-minute song features Eazy boasting about his cars, jewelry, women and branded clothes over a funky instrumental, while also name dropping some designers such as Balenciaga and Comme des Garcons. YG then follows it up with a verse talking about his daughter Harmony as well as Colin Kaepernick. He also takes a moment of silence "for all this racist s**t we goin' through."
When the beats come to an end, Eazy finishes it off with some socially-conscious rhymes about racism and police brutality. "Cops killing black kids and get off scot-free/ What's the difference/ What would happen if a cop shot me?" he spits. "White privilege is real/ Black lives matter/ I hope the barbecues at Lake Merritt get blacker."
It has been speculated that the song is the first taste of "The Endless Summer" second installation. Eazy first introduced the series in 2011.
"Endless Summer Freestyle" marks the third time Eazy collaborated with YG. They previously teamed up as featured guests on Post Malone's "Same B****es" off his latest album "Beerbongs & Bentleys". Eazy has also been featured on the remix of YG's 2016 political anthem "FDT (F**k Donald Trump)" along with Macklemore.
Eazy recently wrapped his "The Endless Summer Tour" at Coral Sky Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Florida. Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Uzi Vert and YBN Nahmir joined him for the second installment of the tour. The first "The Endless Summer Tour" wrapped up back in 2016, with Eazy bringing along YG, Logic and Yo Gotti on the road with him.
