Having previously won the kudo for ‘Thinking Out Loud’ and ‘Love Yourself’, the 27-year-old singer brings home the accolade on the October 1 ceremony for his ‘Shape of You’ track.

AceShowbiz - Ed Sheeran won his third consecutive BMI London Song of the Year award for his track "Shape of You" at a ceremony in the British capital on Monday, October 01.
Ed, 27, shared the prestigious accolade, handed out by bosses at U.S. performing rights group Broadcast Music, Inc. to the most performed song of the previous year on radio, streaming services, TV or film, by U.K. or European writers, with his co-writer Johnny McDaid and producer Kevin "She'kspere" Briggs.
It is his third win in as many years, as his song "Thinking Out Loud" triumphed in 2016, and "Love Yourself", a tune he co-wrote for Justin Bieber, won last year (17).

The prize was the top honour on offer at the event at London's Dorchester Hotel, where accolades were also handed out to the most played tracks of the past year - which included three other songs credited to Ed.
Other artists whose songs were celebrated included Sam Smith ("Too Good at Goodbyes"), Mark Ronson (Lady GaGa's "A Million Reasons") James Arthur ("Say You Won't Let Go") and One Direction stars Liam Payne ("Strip That Down"), and Niall Horan ("Slow Hands").
Tinie Tempah's publishing company Imhotep Music Ltd was also honoured for publishing Passionfruit, as performed by Canadian rapper Drake.
Hollywood composer Harry Gregson-Williams received a BMI Icon Award in recognition of a career in which he has contributed to the scores of films including "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe", "X-Men Origins: Wolverine", and "The Martian".
Classic songs reaching performance milestones were also recognised, with Sting's "Every Breath You Take" receiving an award for reaching an incredible 14 million plays.
Liam, Tinie, James, and Natasha Bedingfield all attended the ceremony.
