The season opener's host Adam Driver starts his monologue with 'one huge spoiler about 'Star Wars',' only to get interrupted by the show's cast members who are curious about his summer.

AceShowbiz - "Saturday Night Live" returned for season 44 on September 29, featuring Adam Driver as the host and Kanye West as the musical guest. Prior to the "BlacKkKlansman" actor's monologue, the season premiere featured a cold open starring Matt Damon as Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

Taken place at the Thursday, September 27 Senate Judiciary Committee hearings with Kavanaugh and his accuser Christine Blasey Ford, it first saw Senator Chuck Grassley, played by cast member Alex Moffat, saying, "We've heard from the alleged victim, but now it's time to hear from the hero, Judge Brett Kavanaugh." Later, Damon's Kavanaugh entered the room, declaring himself as an optimist and "the proudest, drunkest virgin you’ve ever seen!"

He added, "I'm a keg-half-full kind of guy, but what I've seen from the monsters on this committee makes me want to puke -- and not from beer!" Also making a surprise appearance in the skit was "SNL" alum Rachel Dratch.

Meanwhile, Driver, who plays Kylo Ren in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi", started his monologue with "one huge spoiler about 'Star Wars'." However, he was cut off by cast member Beck Bennett, who insisted to have a chit-chat about his summer.

Then he announced that Ewoks were real. "I'll tell you where to find them, you take a plane to Traverse City, Michigan...," he said before he was interrupted once again.

Driver later appeared in a skit titled "Fortnite Squad", in which he played a divorced dad who tried to relate to his son more by getting into popular online game Fortnite. Meanwhile, that night's "Weekend Update" saw the anchors, Colin Jost and Michael Che, joking about Brett Kavanaugh Senate hearing.

Jost pointed out that it seemed like Kavanaugh "thought the hearing was about whether he was cool in high school." The anchor later cracked, "You're not really helping yourself in a drunken assault case when you yell about how much you love drinking and how strong you were at the time," talking about how Kavanaugh kept repeating how much he liked beer during the hearing.

Che added. "I don't know if Mr. Kavanaugh actually has a history of assault or if he actually has a drinking problem. But I know that he might. And you shouldn't be on the Supreme Court if you might. You shouldn't be on The People's Court if you might. Sometimes 'might' is enough."

Cast member Pete Davidson also appeared in the segmen, poking fun at his own romance with Ariana Grande. He joked about switching his singer fiancee's birth control with Tic Tacs to make sure she'd stick around fell flat. "If we break up -- we won't, we will -- but in like 10 years, if god forbid that ever happens, there will be a song called 'Pete Davidson' playing in speakers at K-Mart, and I'll be working there," he continued.

Meanwhile, the best short in the season opener might be a skit titled "New Look". Kyle Mooney attempted to steal Pete's look as he felt jealous of the former who has been getting a lot of attention for his Ariana Grande romance. Mooney then made Wendy Williams as his hot celebrity grilfriend. The two even adopted a pig, just like what Davidson and Grande did.
