AceShowbiz - Fans of "Doctor Who" in the U.S. now finally know exactly what time the British show will arrive on BBC America. The network announced on Wednesday, September 26 that the new season of the long-running sci-fi series is set to premiere at 1.45 P.M. ET on October 7.

It was the same moment the new season, which will star Jodie Whittaker as the first female Doctor, will be premiered in the U.K. In addition, BBC America will air a special encore of the premiere at 8 P.M. ET.

Fans will be able to watch the premiere, which is titled "The Woman Who Fell to Earth", at the New York Comic Con simultaneously. Star Whittaker, showrunner Chris Chibnall and executive producer Matt Strevens will be among the panelists at the event which takes place at Madison Square Garden's Hulu Theater.

"We are thrilled to put together a remarkable moment around the world -- for fans and new viewers alike -- to celebrate this new era of 'Doctor Who' with Jodie Whittaker," Sarah Barnett, President of BBC America, said in a statement. "Jodie is breaking the mold for pop culture heroes everywhere, and Chris has created an inclusive series for all fans of great television."

"The Woman Who Fell to Earth" is set in a South Yorkshire city, where Ryan Sinclair (Tosin Cole), Yasmin Khan (Mandip Gill) and Graham O'Brien (Bradley Wash) are about to have their lives changed. When a mysterious woman, unable to remember her own name, falls from the night sky, can they believe a word she says? And can she help solve the strange events taking place across the city?

Of her casting, which sparked controversy among fans, Whittaker previously said, " 'Doctor Who' wasn't something that was on TV in my house when I was growing up, so I thought I'd have to cane it before the first audition and watch every single episode." She added, "Thankfully, Chris (Chibnall, the producer) said, 'I don't want you to. I want you to come in with fresh eyes and bring what you would do in this environment.' "
