Joaquin Phoenix, in full clown costume, was seen crying in a phone booth during the filming in Brooklyn, New York.

AceShowbiz - Joaquin Phoenix continues to show a different side of Joker while filming of the Warner Bros.-DC movie is still underway. In a new leaked set video from the set, the titular character, whose real name in the movie is Arthur Fleck, is seen having a mental breakdown.

The actor was filming a scene set in a phone booth on Tuesday, September 25 in Brooklyn, New York. Wearing a full clown costume, complete with a white makeup and a green wig, he was talking to someone on the phone before leaning his face on the glass wall and slumping down, apparently sobbing.

The video came after director Todd Phillips shared an official picture of the movie showing Phoenix in complete clown costume. He was sitting while wearing a small round hat, a red nose, burgundy pants as well as red-and-blue shoes.

In the upcoming movie, Joker is depicted as a failed stand-up comedian who goes insane and becomes a murdering psychopath. The origin movie is described as a gritty character study of the signature villain of Batman, and also a broader cautionary tale of a man disregarded by society who becomes the ultimate supervillain.

Zazie Beetz, Brett Cullen, Frances Conroy, Marc Maron, Robert De Niro, Shea Whigham, Glenn Fleshler, Bill Camp, Douglas Hodge and Josh Pais also star in the movie. Phillips wrote the script and also serves as producer along with Martin Scorsese and Emma Tillinger Koskoff. The DC-Warner Bros. movie is scheduled for an October 4, 2019 release in the United States.

According to a casting call, the movie will be filmed in Jersey City on September 30 and November 9, as well as Newark on October 15 and 16, involving some extras.
