One Instagram user dubs the fiancee of Justin Bieber 'tone-deaf,' while another points out the fact that the model has the privilege of being Stephen Baldwin's daughter.

AceShowbiz - Hailey Baldwin has been labelled tone-deaf over comments she made about not choosing work just for money.

The model, who is engaged to singer Justin Bieber, has risen to prominence in the fashion world in recent months after landing campaigns for the likes of Tommy Hilfiger, Levi's and Fendi.

However, many of Hailey's fans have taken issue with some of her words in a recent interview with Coveteur.com in which she exclaimed, "I don't ever want to go forward in life and do things just to do things. Or do things for money. Or do things that don't actually make me happy. I think it's a big thing, you've got to love what you do."

Writing alongside a link to the full chat on Instagram on Monday, September 24, one user noted that Hailey's comments seemed to be "tone-deaf" considering she has a wealthy fiance and is the daughter of Hollywood actor Stephen Baldwin.

"When you have tonnes of money you can have a different attitude about what you're 'willing' to do. A bit tone deaf," they wrote, while another added, "Easy to say for someone who grew up this privileged and with a name that opens doors."

A third user stated: "It must be nice to refuse to do things for money."

Hailey has not yet responded to the backlash. In the rest of the Coveteur interview, the model discussed her style and beauty regime. She also claimed that she was determined to use her platform to reach out to young women.

"Anything that can involve young people," the 21-year-old said of what she finds fulfilling. "I love to talk to girls my age and older and younger. My agency, IMG, did this fashion camp where I got to sit and talk to girls who are either interested in modelling or being a fashion designer, and it was so fun to see them have such intelligent questions and be so passionate about it."
