In response to the negative responses from music journalists, the 'Lose Yourself' rapper highlights the fact that his latest studio album debuted at number one in 103 countries.

AceShowbiz - Rap superstar Eminem has sarcastically thanked critics for publicly trashing his new album "Kamikaze" with a spoof advertisement.

The "Lose Yourself" hitmaker surprised fans by releasing his 10th studio album without fanfare on 31 August, but the project didn't wow reviewers, with many insisting Eminem was past his prime.

Despite the lacklustre critical reception, fans still rushed to stream and download "Kamikaze", helping it hit the top the charts worldwide, including in the U.S. and U.K.

Eminem has since laughed off the negative responses from music journalists by recently taking out a full-page awards season-style ad in The Hollywood Reporter magazine, highlighting the harsh reviews.

The image featured his album artwork with the headline, "Not for your consideration!" followed by quotes from some of the more blunt reviews, including one from the publication's own writer, who dubbed the project, "The work of an aging artist trying, and failing, to remain relevant..."

The ad, backed by his label bosses at Shady Records, Aftermath Entertainment, and Interscope, concludes by noting that "Kamikaze" debuted at number one in 103 countries, and closes with the words, "Thanks for the support, a**holes!"
