AceShowbiz - The son of incarcerated rap mogul Suge Knight has claimed the system is set up for him "not to make it out" of prison.

On Thursday, September 20, the Death Row Records co-founder avoided a lengthy murder trial by striking a plea deal with prosecutors. As part of the deal, he accepted a 28-year prison sentence for voluntary manslaughter, days before his murder trial was due to start over the alleged 2015 hit-and-run incident in a Los Angeles parking lot that cost Terry Carter his life and left another man injured.

Following the news, his son, Suge Jacob Knight, spoke to TMZ, saying that it's unfair and the system has been set up so it's unlikely his father will make it out, given his dad's health issues, which include diabetes and treatment for blood clots.

"With all his health issues, I'm very worried about my father. He's a strong dude but he's human, man. The more he's in there, his stress is causing his health to be f**ked up," he said. "It's set up for him not to make it out and that's just the sad part because he doesn't deserve that. I don't wish this on anybody. The way it's set up in there - his diabetes, his health, he needs intensive care all the time."

"He always gonna be good. He always gonna be a man. That's a great man.... it's time to give him a break. A chance. It's unfair, it's really unfair."

The 53-year-old appeared in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Thursday to enter a no contest plea to the lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter. In exchange, he was granted credit for time served, knocking close to three-and-a-half years off his prison term.

Knight, who will be formally sentenced on October 4, had previously pleaded not guilty to the murder charge, claiming he acted in self defence as he tried to make a fast escape from a violent attack.
