During an interview on the red carpet of the big award show, the star of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ shares her hope of not going into labor during the show.

AceShowbiz - Actress Yvonne Strahovski had everything crossed she would make it through the Emmys before going into labour as she arrived for the big show on Monday, September 17.

The heavily pregnant "The Handmaid's Tale" star was hoping to keep it all in as she hit the gold carpet in Los Angeles in black.

"(It's) any day now, hopefully not today," she said. "I'm just gonna hold him in there and hope for the best! I'm so excited."

Yvonne then realised she had let it slip that she was expecting a baby boy.

"We haven't really announced what we're having but I just let it slip...," she giggled. "Now we have. It's out. It's a boy."

The 36-year-old star took to Instagram in May to announce her pregnancy by sharing a photo of her growing belly as she broke the news to fans.

"I am very excited to finally be able to share my special news," she wrote. "I'm going to be a Mama! So very exciting to watch & feel this little Peanut growing every day!"

Ironically, the actress portrays Serena Joy Waterford, a woman who is unable to conceive, on "The Handmaid's Tale".

The child will be Yvonne's first with actor Tim Loden, who she quietly wed last summer. They made their debut as husband and wife on the red carpet at the Emmy Awards last year.
