AceShowbiz - The 70th annual Emmy Awards ceremony took place at the Microsoft Theatre in downtown Los Angeles on Monday, September 17. Hosted by "Saturday Night Live" duo Colin Jost and Michael Che, the award-winning ceremony was set to honor the excellence in the television industry. Among the early winners that night was Henry Winkler, who took home his first Emmy in the best supporting actor in a comedy series category for his role as Gene Cousineau on HBO's "Barry".

The crowd gave the actor, who was nominated for his first Primetime Emmy in 1976, a standing ovation. "The Crown" stars Matt Smith and Claire Foy were tapped to present the award for Henry, who has received 6 nominations over the past 42 years.

"I only have 37 seconds; I wrote this 43 years ago," joked Henry. "Can I just say, Skip Brittenham said to me a long time ago, 'If you stay long enough, the chips come to you.' " Winkler later thanked his colleagues and loved ones in his acceptance speech.

Joining Henry, Alex Borstein was later announced as one of the early winners. The actress was named the winner of best supporting actress in a comedy series for her role on "Marvelous Mrs. Maisel with Jimmy Kimmel and Tracy Morgan presenting the award.

While delivering her speech, Alex pretended to strip off her dress though she only took off a matching bolero from the top of her outfit, before telling everyone she had gone braless. "Ladies when you use the public bathroom, sit down. If you sit, we can all sit," she said, before thanking her colleagues and family for her milestone.
