The 'Mission: Impossible - Fallout' actor isn't distancing himself from the DC superhero franchise that made him famous despite reports that he's hung up his Superman mantle.

AceShowbiz - Henry Cavill has the best response to those Superman rumors. Hours after it was reported that he wouldn't reprise his role as the Man of Steel in future DCEU movie(s), the "Justice League" star took to Instagram to hint at his relationship with the superhero franchise that made him a household name.
Without saying a word, the 35-year-old hunk made sure everyone knows that he's not parting ways with the studio or hanging up his Superman mantle just yet. He posted a video of him wearing a Krypton Lifting Team T-shirt and holding up a Superman toy.
"Today was exciting #Superman," he cryptically wrote in the caption. While he didn't directly address the reports, it's safe to assume that his relationship with the studio is still good, otherwise he wouldn't call those Superman exit rumors "exciting."
Earlier, rumors surfaced saying that Cavill had stepped down as Superman after negotiations surrounding a cameo in 2019's "Shazam!" fell apart due to a scheduling conflict. It was also suggested the actor wanted to walk away from the superhero role, because studio executives are now focused on a "Supergirl" origins movie, which will feature a much younger Superman.
Warner Bros. Later issued a statement to say, "While no decisions have been made regarding any upcoming Superman films, we've always had great respect for and a great relationship with Henry Cavill, and that remains unchanged."
Meanwhile, Cavill's manager Dany Garcia wrote on Twitter to assure fans that the "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" actor is currently still the studio's Superman. "Be peaceful, the cape is still in his closet. [Warner Bros. Pictures] has been and continues to be our partners as they evolve the DC Universe. Anticipate a WB statement later today," he tweeted.

A "Batman v Superman" sequel has yet to be greenlit by Warner Bros. following the lukewarm reception at box office and unfavorable reviews from critics for the 2016 movie. The studio has decided to move forward with a solo Aquaman movie, a "Wonder Woman" sequel and The Flash standalone film "Flashpoint" instead.
