Hundreds, if not thousands, of fans gathered at the park in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, September 11 to remember the 26-year-old spitter.

AceShowbiz - Mac Miller public vigil was held on Tuesday, September in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Hundreds, if not thousands, of mourners gathered at his childhood hangout spot, Frick Park's Blue Slide playground, which inspired the name of his debut album "Blue Side Park".

The vigil, hosted by Nightfall Records, began on Tuesday afternoon and continued into the evening. The park was decorated with candles, flowers, murals of the late hip-hop star and attributes of Pittsburgh Steeler, Miller's favorite NFL team. The playground's eponymous slide was also newly-painted blue.

Fans and friends were "simply sitting and listening to his music, looking at drawings and paintings of him. Some wearing shirts bearing his name, many wearing Pittsburgh shirts," according to David Kaplan of local news outlet WTAE.

A mourner, Johnny Rogan of Lancaster, said, "It hits home for sure. It's just incredible to come here knowing he's been here. Knowing this was such an influence on his life and knowing he's been such a big influence of mine."

Another fan, Gabrielle Sherman, shared, "I was heartbroken. I've been crying for like four days."

One mourner told E! News of the memorial, "There were so many emotions showed to respect such a great influence on Pittsburgh. His friends shared nothing but kind words about him, and a lot of people that attended his high school attended."

Describing it as "beautiful," the attendee added, "All together, it was wonderful and I'm so happy I was able to attend. I think I can speak for everyone when I say he will truly be missed and we all pray for healing for his family."

Some attendees signed a petition to change the name of the playground portion of Frick Park to "Mac Miller Blue Slide Park".
