AceShowbiz - Michael Caine has signed on to join Ben Foster in director Petr Jakl's new movie about 14th century Czech warlord Jan Zizka.

The screen veteran will play Lord Boresh, the trusted aide of Czech royal King Wenceslaus IV, in Medieval, according to Deadline.

The film will be an all-Czech affair, with the Czech Film Fund, the Prague Film Fund, and the President of the Senate of Parliament of the Czech Republic among the project's top backers.

Foster's character, Zizka - aka Jan Zizka of Trocnov, was a military strategist who became famous for training peasants to fight and defeat invading armies.

Jakl's film will also focus on his relationship with an heiress.

Announcing Caine's casting to Deadline on Thursday, September 06, Medieval producer Cassian Elwes said, "It's been a dream of mine to make a film with Michael Caine since I first started working in the business. Now this dream has come true and I couldn't be more excited. He's a living legend."
