Rob Lowe Reveals Vintage Home Movie Footage With Charlie Sheen

The actor unearths the video during his appearance on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert'.

AceShowbiz - Rob Lowe has unearthed home movie footage he and Charlie Sheen shot as teenagers.

The actor made an appearance on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" on Wednesday night (September 05) to promote his next project, Lifetime movie "The Bad Seed", which is a remake of the 1956 horror-thriller of the same name.

In addition to starring, Rob is also making his directorial debut on the TV film - though he admitted that he used to make movies with Charlie and his brother Chad Lowe when they were youngsters.

"I recently uncovered one of the movies we made in Martin Sheen's backyard. I was obsessed with Leonard Nimoy's In Search Of... so this is our backyard version of Leonard Nimoy's In Search Of," he said, referring to the TV series devoted to mysterious phenomena which ran from 1977 until 1982. "I'd say we're 16. I'm directing and I'm also the camera man. Charlie Sheen is the star and Chad Lowe as the beast."

Rob then aired the vintage clip, which showed Charlie, dressed in a tan suit, playing a reporter who is hunting for a creature that has "haunted mankind for centuries".

A young Chad portrayed the beast in a costume made of a black trash bag and white mask, while Rob made a short appearance as a holidaymaker scared by the monster.

"That is the work of an early Steven Spielberg, I can tell you that," Rob laughed of the video.

During the chat, host Stephen also asked Rob about the possibility of a reboot of political drama "The West Wing", which starred Charlie's father Martin Sheen and Allison Janney.

And the 54-year-old explained that he would was simply waiting for series creator Aaron Sorkin to come up with an idea.

"I think it's time to get the old gang back together," he insisted. "I know all of the staff would love it (but) it's all about Aaron Sorkin. He's the guy who wrote it. He's the guy who created it. He is The West Wing and we've got to have him figure it out."
