Brandon Johnson has escaped a run-in with law enforcement, because an overdose is categorised as a self-induced medical emergency.

AceShowbiz - Demi Lovato's alleged drug dealer won't face arrest or even a police investigation after confessing he supplied the singer with the pills that led to her recent overdose.

Brandon Johnson told TMZ Demi asked him to supply her with pills she knew were risky, and he called round to her home in Hollywood to deliver and hang out with the star.

But he has escaped a run-in with law enforcement, because an overdose is categorised as a self-induced medical emergency.

Paramedics were called to Lovato's home in July after the star was found unconscious. She spent two weeks in the hospital and has since checked herself into a rehab centre to seek help after the relapse.

Demi spent an extended period in rehab back in 2010 and 2011 after suffering a meltdown on tour with The Jonas Brothers.

Meanwhile, the Cool For the Summer singer has put the Hollywood Hills home, where she suffered the overdose earlier this summer, up for sale.

The property, which Demi bought in 2016, is on the market for just under $9.5 million (GBP7.4 million).

Lovato has not returned to her four bedroom house since the medical emergency - she went straight to rehab from hospital.

It hasn't exactly been a dream home for the star - in January 2017, it was hit by a mudslide and officials listed the pad among those in danger of sliding down the side of a mountain.

The news coverage alerted wannabe burglars and weeks later the place was targeted.

"It (mudslide story) was all over TMZ," Lovato told Billboard. "They showed pictures of my house. I was so p**sed. If a crazed fan studied those, they could break in.

"They (burglars) knew I was going to be away. They had a ladder and climbed to the second floor. My house manager was staying here, and the dogs started barking. She opened the door and saw a man on my balcony, and he ran. My dogs saved the day."
