The suggested post-credit scene idea reunites Chris Evans' character with his love interest Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell).

AceShowbiz - There have been rumors that some Avengers may make their final appearances in the fourth movie and now fans are sharing their ideas about how Chris Evans' journey as Captain America will end. One theory is so heartbreaking yet romantic.

The suggested post-credit scene idea reunites Steve Rogers with his love interest from "Captain America: The First Avenger", Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell). Twitter user @quill_rocket proposed the theory, tweeting, "WHAT IF STEVE DIES IN AVENGERS 4 AND THE POST CREDIT SCENE IS HIM WALKING INTO AN OLD EMPTY DANCE HALL (the one in the aou vision) AND YOU HEAR PEGGY'S VOICE SAYING 'youre late...' "

The tweet has since gone viral, with more than 90,000 users clicking the like button. Fans replied with their reactions to the bittersweet, yet fitting ending for the World War II hero. "Wow!!!! I'd be happy and sad simultaneously," one commented. Another agreed with the idea, writing, "Indeed. One of the best ways for Steve to go."

The spark between Steve and Peggy was apparent in "Captain America: The First Avenger", but they got separated when Steve was presumed dead. They had a brief reunion in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" decades later, before Peggy eventually died in "Captain America: Civil War".

Marvel tried to introduce a brand new love interest for Cap with Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp), Peggy's niece, but apparently fans were not into it and it has never been mentioned again.

While he survived Thanos' snap in "Avengers: Infinity War", Captain America is one of the Earth's Mightiest Heroes who are rumored to die in "Avengers 4". Evans has previously hinted that "Avengers 4" would be the last time he's playing the character.

Since it's too early to tell whether Atwell will once again make appearance as Peggy in "Avengers 4", fans will only find out the answer when the movie is released on May 3, 2019 in the United States.
