The five-year-old prince participated in one of the family traditions while visiting Queen Elizabeth's summer home in Scotland.

AceShowbiz - Prince William, Kate Middleton and their children joined Queen Elizabeth for a royal vacation in Scotland this weekend. During their trip on Friday, August 24, they took Prince George to participate in his first grouse hunting with his older relatives at the Queen's summer home, Balmoral Castle.

According to a source, George was accompanied by his mother, the Queen, Prince Charles, Prince Edward and his family among others. Her Majesty reportedly drove her Range Rover car to see the little prince's first hunting before they went for a lunch together. "It was a very jolly family lunch," the source told The Sun. "The men and Princess Anne all shoot in the morning, then the wives and children join the party for the shoot lunch on the moor."

The royal family was also spotted riding a maroon Daimler as they headed to a church on Sunday, August 26. William sat on the front seat, while Kate sat on the backseat of the car with the Queen. The Duchess of Cambridge looked elegant as always in her gray coat with covered buttons and a black hat. She also sported a beautiful pair of pearl earrings.

Balmoral is apparently one of the Queen's favorite places as she visits the castle every summer. Princess Eugenie once revealed on "Our Queen at Ninety" that the 92-year-old monarch felt happy when she was there.

"Walks, picnics, dogs, a lot of dogs, there's always dogs, and people coming in and out all the time. It's a lovely base for Granny and Grandpa, for us to come and see them up there where you just have room to breathe and run," the Duchess of York said, before adding, "It's the most beautiful place on earth. I think Granny is the most happy there. I think she really, really loves the Highlands."
